CHARLESTON — After being cancelled last year, the Boys HS State Basketball Tournament begins today, Tuesday, May 4 with the four championship games being held on Saturday. Our very own Logan Burkett, Team 304 assistant coach and member of the Cameron HS Dragons Boys Basketball Program, will be in attendance along with stand out Team 304 player Connor Howard.

WTOV interviewed some of the Cameron players before their trip to Charleston, including Burkett. The Cameron HS Dragons are facing Tug Valley this afternoon in their 1st round game at 1PM at the Charleston Civic Center (Listen Live @ WV Metro News). Logan scored 10 points, had 5 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals in the W. Va. Class A Region One Co-Final last Wednesday (Apr 28) to help Cameron earn a berth in the WV State Semi-finals. Logan’s brother Cole led the Dragons with 25 points in that game.

“This is my brother’s last year,” Cole Burkett said. “This is my last year playing with him and we had a talk in the locker room before the game about not leaving anything out there. We have posters in the locker room saying ‘play like it’s your last game’ and we finished the mission.”
